Welcome to “Jade’s World”

You’re invited to join me in “Jade’s World” a bi-weekly adventure designed and written to share my knowledge of photography. Through out our journey I hope to explain the process of photographing children and to define what professional photographers look for and expect should you decide to explore the world of modeling for your child.
As a professional photographer in New York City for more years than I care to remember I could go to great lengths to explain my credentials but that would be too embarrassing. So rather than tooting my own horn, I’ll simply provide you with what others have written about me.
“Ms Albert has gained a reputation as one of the nation’s leading commercial photographers. American Photographer Magazine credited her with reinventing the craft by allowing children to act as they do in real life.”
- Randall Rothenberg – The New York Times
“Jade Albert may just be the best children’s fashion
photographer in the business. If you see an ad with
cute kids looking chic, it’s probably by Jade.”
- American Photographer Magazine
Nick Peters, Creative Director of Macy’s, has said,
“A lot of the kids owe their careers to Jade.” ***
Remember our focus on one hand will be to improve your skills as a photographer and on the other hand to prepare both you and your child for entry into the business profession of child modeling.
So let our journey begin, stay tuned…

Hi Melody,
I really think these are great shots. You certainly captured the essence of your daughter natural comfort zone with the camera. Okay some positive advice: Watch your background… The boy is growing out of her head and makes your photo distracting. I would definitely zoom in and capture her warmth …
Remember, Up Close and Personal! Do not be afraid to take risks..That is the only way you are going to learn. Take chances and grow!!! Please show me
after you try my suggestions.
Thank you!
My Best,
Jade

Hi Jade,
I saw your website and loved your kids pictures. I’m from Jersey and a mom of three. I wish to have my kids photographed by you, but I fear that I will have to save up $ for a long time before we could step into your studios. However, I thought, hey, it wouldn’t hurt to ask.
I’m a physical therapist in NJ and I love taking pictures of my children with my nikon D40. I used to take my 2 older children to Picture People in NJ for portraits when they were little until I bought a digital camera and just did it myself. (I wish to learn more about photography but my busy schedule doesn’t allow me much room for further education at this time. May I ask if you have any advice for moms like me who are interested in photography? I attached 3 pictures that I took.)
My youngest child Isabel (7 yrs old) loves the camera and I have taken hundreds of digital pictures of her, but I think that my amateur efforts don’t do her justice. I would like to ask if you could please e-mail me your price quotes/ packages/ etc. to give me an idea if this is feasible for us at this time.
I figured that even if I were to have only 1 a framed picture of my children on our wall, if it’s done by you, then it’ll be worth it.
