8X10 Headshots for Acting
Written by judy on October 8, 2009 – 10:09 am -
Acting representation, either by a manager or talent agency, is usually always for children age five and over.
You can absolutely send pictures into agencies for consideration that are not professional, but you will have an edge if you send in an 8X10 headshot. THESE DO NOT HAVE TO BE PROFESSIONAL!!!
You can take the picture on your own, and as long as it’s close-up, in focus and shows personality along with what the child looks like, you can make an 8X10 on your own with an inexpensive company like this one:
I used them myself – the results are at the top of this post!! That’s my daughter, who just got representation.
They are quick, inexpensive and the paper is good quality.

Are you a Role Mommy?
Written by judy on May 6, 2009 – 12:10 pm -Check me out in RoleMommy.com!
So many of us try to be Mom, provider, friend, wife, leader and so many other roles simultaneously, that we forget we are leading by example – don’t be so “busy with life” that you forget to give yourself credit for being the best you can be!
Does anyone have a story of a funny “Mommy” moment? Or a proud “Mommy” moment? One of the times I remember so clearly was when we were out to dinner and one of my 3 year old daughters ran up to various random tables while people were eating , put her face just above the table’s ledge, and declared, “I LOVE my Mommy!!” Ahhhh, that one moment will be frozen in time forever in my mind.
Here’s to all of you mothers out there that are everything to everyone that you love – have an incredible Mother’s Day this weekend!
You deserve the best….and don’t forget, post your “Proud Mommy Moments here!”

High School Musical sighting!
Written by judy on February 6, 2009 – 8:37 pm -
I was in Los Angeles for the Golden Globes a couple of weeks ago, and met Vanessa Hudgens – what a beauty!! And just as polite and gracious as could be. My 4-year old twin daughters would have fainted, I think! I teased her about her boyfriend Zach, and she gave me a big smile.
What makes some child stars so down to earth, and others with such attitude?

Too CUTE for words!!
Written by judy on February 2, 2009 – 7:45 pm -I visited the set of the photo shoot for the 2008 Cute Kid Winner today at the Carter’s footwear studio!!
Wow, what poise and grace at 3 years old!! Check her out:
KAYLEY – 2008 Cute Kid Winner!
In between takes Kaley raced around the set in circles, expressing her excitement and blowing off 3-year old steam! Sometimes I think if ALL of us could do that during a workday we would be so much more productive.
What traits does your kid have to be a future Cute Kid?
