I must say, I was very disappointed with this entire pageant weekend. It seemed to be a bit disorganized, and those that should have won something didn’t win, while others that shouldn’t have won took it all. But, whatever. Live and learn– I don’t think we’ll be doing this pageant system next year. The babies honestly don’t need any more plastic trophies or stuffed animals. It’s a good pageant to get your feet wet with, but I just don’t understand the scoring– Or the fact that the judges have little to no entertainment or modeling background.

Charlie won Best Dressed, Prettiest Smile, First Runner Up Overall, Second Runner Up Model and the title of Photogenic All American Boy. A 4 month old baby boy won the grand supreme title. I’m not even going to go there– Good for him. But, honestly, I don’t know how you can compare a 4 month old baby to a 16 month old, much less the older baby boys that he beat out for the grand supreme baby title.

NOTE TO SELF: When entering a pageant, find out HOW the contestants are scored before filling out the paperwork. None of the way they did it made any sense at all… Even the pageant director said on stage, “It may seem like this doesn’t make any sense, but it does on paper.”  Really? Then why did Charlie win 2nd Runner Up Photogenic at the Regional Pageant when he didn’t even submit a photo?? Because the judges thought that he would take a nice picture? Ugh. This crap is enough to make me want to swear off pageants forever.

It was fun, though. I got to spend time with the babies away from home and with my mom. It was a little stressful at times, but overall a nice weekend.
