So since I got my handy dandy new blog, I figured I’d make up some snazzy title’s for subjects during the week. Well, here we are at Friday…hence, Social Finds Friday (you’ll learn that I really, really like alliterations!).

So I came across a great, new, original blog this week that all parents should keep up with because it’s a cool concept. I found it because the author is someone I “know” on Twitter. The blog is going to be a running list of rules, 2024 of them to be exact, for his daughter. Why such a strange number? Well, 2024 is when his daughter will turn 18.

Not only do I think this blog is such an awesome idea, a while ago the author asked his Twitter posse for some suggestions of rules. Of course, I had to answer…I am a daughter after all! Well, sure enough, my rule is now posted for all of the Internet to see! You can find my influence under Rule #8…although the “knee” part of the rule wasn’t my idea, I can’t say I completely disagree. Haha!

What would some of your rules be?

I really want to know who is winning this dang GAP contest. They’ve been stringing us along telling us “The GAP kids winner will be announced in late January.” Well, considering there’s only two days left of January, they don’t have so much time left to keep their promise! GAP, if you’re reading this…tell us who it is already!

The CuteKid has two good reasons to be excited for this years contest though. Two of our very own CuteKids are in the running to be the new GAP Kid models. They’re actually competing against each other as they’re both contestants in the Kid Boy category. Either way, we’re sure one of them will be the winner…they ARE CuteKids after all!

So we’re on the lookout for any news from GAP. Hopefully news that says either Kellen or Jared are their new GAP Boy model.

Either way, we’re sure we’re going to hear more from these cute boys in the future.

So I decided because we have so many CuteKids doing great things…I needed to have Winner Wednesday. So from now until the end of time, or until I completely break the Internet someday…Winner Wednesday it will be.

So who’s a winner this week? Some of you may remember we teamed up with the Long Island chapter of March of Dimes and had a Cutest Kid on Long Island Contest. Well, some of the folks here at work are attending a banquet tonight for the winners of that contest.

Typically, Social Mama would be there too but, I’m too cool I forgot to RSVP. So I’ll be “increasing my knowledge of all things social” by watching American Idol and The Real World. File that under ‘creative wording’ folks!

So who was the winner you might ask. I’ll give you one guess…

Her name is Kiannah…but why does her photo say TLC? She also happend to land a spot on their new show “Toddlers and Tiaras” which gives a glimpse into the life of pageant kids airing on Tuesday nights. Read more about her on our spotlights page here.

Just got some very exciting news for our 2008 CuteKid of the Year winner, Kaley. We just finalized our plans to have her visit New York next week for her photo shoot with Carter’s Footwear, makers of some really great baby and kid shoes!

As “The Face of Carter’s Footwear” for 2009, she will be appearing in all sorts of ads sporting the latest in kids shoes. With such a cutie modeling for Carter’s Footwear, it’ll be hard to keep the shoes on the shelves!

It’s been a little hectic around here (and for her as well!) since the announcement. But we are so excited to meet her and her family and get some great shots of her for Carter’s.

She’s become quite the little celebrity in her town since her big win, appearing in local newspapers and other media. The local exterminator even called her mom to say congratulations!
