Hey CuteKidders! Just got back from our Texas Model Search, and let me tell you, it went FANTASTICALLY.

Judy Goss & Fashion Show Cast

So many cuties & their parents came out in hopes of being the next child model for The Campbell Agency! I’m sure it is going to be hard for Campbell Agency to choose just one cutie to claim the grand prize of a 1 year modeling contract & $500 prize! It was hard enough just to choose a few to be in the fashion show.

We even had an agent on site scouting for more talent, and boy was she impressed with the cuties that showed up! Who knows, maybe we will see more than one cutie from the model search being represented by Campbell.

The fashion show was also great, we ended up being able to give 18 cuties the chance to strut their stuff on stage in some of this Fall’s coolest outfits from SAKs, GAP Kids & Baby GAP, Gymboree, Rainforest Café and Fanzz! Boy did they do an EXCELLENT job!

Some kids shook their groove thang, some tossed around a football, some strutted their stuff like pro runway models and one even did some cool karate moves! So many different cute characters!

A special thanks to all who came out for the search and made it such a great success!

Another special thanks to some people who helped us out greatly this weekend: Grapevine Mills Mall, The Campbell Agency, Candy Battle, Merry Miller,Melody of Melodies & Memories, Royal Drama, Wee Ones, SAKs, GAP Kids & Baby GAP, Gymboree, Rainforest Café, Fanzz, Parents Magazine and all the interns who showed up to help us keep things flowing smoothly!

We just can’t wait to do our next model search!

This post is inspired by the support I saw flying across the Internet for a fellow twitter-er and blogger who lost her 17 month old daughter this week. Trying to help another in her honor!

Last month I wrote about a 6-year-old girl, Jasmina, who is in desperate need of a bone-marrow transplant as she has an aggressive form of Leukemia. Awareness of her disease and her need for a transplant has been aided by big stars like singers,  Rihanna, Lil Mama and Kelly Rowland.  Jasmina’s parents adopted her when she was only 3 days old and are not a match for her.

I explained a little in my previous post about helping Jasmina, just how easy it is to get tested and donate. It’s a simple outpatient proceedure and you can DEFINITELY save a life. Hey, if Rihanna, Lil Mama and Kelly Rowland can do it, you can do it too!

What’s your child’s talent?

Twitter Friend: My almost 11 year old is a competitive barrel racer & has 5 championship buckles to her credit. That caught my attention for sure!

What celebs are your kid’s role models?

Twitter Friend: My sons love cooking and cooking shows. They equate chefs to rockstars…no…bigger than rockstars. I was not expecting Bobby Flay to come up for that question!

Hello there friends! As you know, I typically write about great things happening here at The CuteKid but we got some sad news here today and hopefully our friends can help!

Jasmina Amena is a little girl in our local area of NY and was recently diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of leukemia and is in dire need of a marrow transplant. As of now they have not found a match for her and since she is adopted and has no siblings, her parents are running out of options quickly.

Jasmina needs some help CuteKid friends! Did you know that you can help her without having surgery? You can find out if you’re a match with a simple mouth swab, it’s so easy and you have the opportunity to help a little girl see her 7th birthday and many more!

There are 2 ways to donate to Jasmina, one is from your blood and one is from your bone marrow, both are simple out patient procedures!

You can help even if you aren’t a match for Jasmina, from donating to spreading the word.

Another update on a CuteKid! Macy’s chose Kyler from California to be in some of their ads! Since becomming a CuteKid, Kyler has also been seen in ads for Old Navy and Hanna Andersson. Way to go Kyler!

So like a good Social Mama, I was watching the Grammy’s last night. Little did I know, one of our very own CuteKids (Beth) was at the Grammy’s because she was in a music video for an up and comming artist! Out of 300 pitches, the video she was in was one of 5 winners that aired at the Grammy’s. Way to go Beth!

Before appearing on the Grammy’s, Beth and her twin sister Brooke were our April 2008 Multiples Winners! CuteKids have been going all sorts of great places lately! See our other recent CuteKids who have made waves, Kellen, Kiannah and Jared.

The music video was for the Filmaka Lincoln Mercury competition called Project Rising Stars done especially for the Grammy’s. Beth was featured in the music video for Olivia Broadfield’s song ‘Indescribable.’ In addition to being aired on the Grammy’s, a 30 second condensed version of each video is used for a Lincoln Mercury national SAG TV commercial. How cool!

You can also vote for Beth’s video that appeared on the Grammy’s. The concept of the video is very cute, and I’m not even saying that because one of our kids was in it! It might make you a little nostalgic!

They also have a page up for each of the winning videos that were featured during the Grammy’s.

This weekend as part of Kaley’s prize package, she and her parents made their way to NY for a fun-filled weekend and her photo shoot with Carter’s(r) Footwear! Let me tell you, what a doll!

Even with skipping her nap, she was a total natural in front of the camera, sporting the latest in Carter’s(r) Footwear. They were even nice enough to let her keep the shoes! She’s going to be one stylin’ little girl come spring time.

We had a little impromptu interview with Kaley and her ‘rents and found out they did all sorts of cool stuff like go to the Central Park Zoo, rode in a horse drawn carriage and Kaley even saw her first snow! And in case you were wondering, yes, this girly girl’s favorite color is pink!

So I decided because we have so many CuteKids doing great things…I needed to have Winner Wednesday. So from now until the end of time, or until I completely break the Internet someday…Winner Wednesday it will be.

So who’s a winner this week? Some of you may remember we teamed up with the Long Island chapter of March of Dimes and had a Cutest Kid on Long Island Contest. Well, some of the folks here at work are attending a banquet tonight for the winners of that contest.

Typically, Social Mama would be there too but, I’m too cool I forgot to RSVP. So I’ll be “increasing my knowledge of all things social” by watching American Idol and The Real World. File that under ‘creative wording’ folks!

So who was the winner you might ask. I’ll give you one guess…

Her name is Kiannah…but why does her photo say TLC? She also happend to land a spot on their new show “Toddlers and Tiaras” which gives a glimpse into the life of pageant kids airing on Tuesday nights. Read more about her on our spotlights page here.

Just got some very exciting news for our 2008 CuteKid of the Year winner, Kaley. We just finalized our plans to have her visit New York next week for her photo shoot with Carter’s Footwear, makers of some really great baby and kid shoes!

As “The Face of Carter’s Footwear” for 2009, she will be appearing in all sorts of ads sporting the latest in kids shoes. With such a cutie modeling for Carter’s Footwear, it’ll be hard to keep the shoes on the shelves!

It’s been a little hectic around here (and for her as well!) since the announcement. But we are so excited to meet her and her family and get some great shots of her for Carter’s.

She’s become quite the little celebrity in her town since her big win, appearing in local newspapers and other media. The local exterminator even called her mom to say congratulations!
